The goal of this Epcot Touring Strategy is to help someone who is planning to spend only ONE day at Epcot and they want to meet all the best characters and ride all the best rides.  It is designed for those who wish to use Regular Operating Hours which begin at 9:00 AM.

If you hope to accomplish this plan in its entirety, you MUST arrive at Epcot by 8:15 am.  Go to an available Mickey Touch Point at the gate and get in the shortest or non-existent line.  If you snooze, you’ll wait in lines, often.  I tested this plan on a busy day and didn’t wait for ANY ride and only short waits for characters to appear.  If you are just a few minutes late, you could wait 30-120 minutes for Soarin’ alone.

Epcot is the largest park in terms of walking area.  The World Showcase is one mile around, so you’ll do a lot of walking.  This plan only involves one small double back from France back to United Kingdom, so it’s really easy on the feet.

If you follow this Epcot Touring Plan, you’ll be able to do every ride and meet all the characters and still have some time in the evening for a nice meal.  I recommend a quick service lunch, but you could do a Table Service lunch and move the meets and rides in the afternoon down an hour or so.  Just be sure to check the character schedules to make sure you can fit them in.  Arrive EARLY for every Princess meet.  The meets are often filled before the Princess even arrives.

This plan isn’t for those who want to enjoy a casual stroll in the park.  If you are fruitful with your Fastpass+ usage, it would be easy to take in every headliner and meet all of the characters.

I recommend that you arrive 45 minutes before this park opening.  Look for a turnstile that doesn’t have a line or a very short line.  Most people tend to line up behind others.

This plan was designed to be able to experience all the best rides, see the fireworks and meet every character in one day from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM without too much backtracking or rushing around.

Shouldn’t I go to Soarin first?

No, because you’ll need to travel all the way to Test Track, then come all the way back across the park to the France Pavilion to meet Belle.  Follow this plan and it will work nicely.

Why shouldn’t I ride Spaceship Earth first?  

I realize it’s right in front of you when you enter and you’re tempted to walk right on, but it will take 20-30 minutes of your time and both headliners will have huge waits, meaning you’ll either have to skip one or ride the other one instead of watching Illuminations.

United Kingdom	Mary Poppins. After meeting Mary, head back to France to meet Aurora. She’s on the far right next to the water.	12:00 PM
France	Aurora. After meeting Aurora, immediately make your way to the Aladdin & Jasmine meet.	12:30 PM
Morocco	Aladdin and Jasmine. They are very popular in Morocco and can also be met in the Magic Kingdom.	12:45 PM
	Grab a quick service lunch. Japan and America have some decent Quick Service locations
Germany	Snow White. Arrive by 1:15 pm for the shortest wait. If your family hasn’t finished lunch, you could have one member wait in line or move her meet down the list. She can also be met in the Magic Kingdom in the same dress.	1:30 PM
China	Mulan. This is the only meet and greet for Mulan and her next meet isn’t until 3:50 pm, so arrive a few minutes early.	2:00 PM
Mexico	Donald. We’re going to meet Donald Duck before Anna and Elsa to insure that we don’t come here during his one hour break. It’s only a few steps from Norway.	12:00 PM – 03:15 PM & 4:10-7:15 PM
Mexico	Gran Fiesta Tour. You’re here already and you’d like to get off your feet. Why not take an air-conditioned boat ride with little or no wait?
Norway	Anna & Elsa. I recommend meeting the ladies this late in the day because the lines are shorter in the afternoon and it allows you to experience the attractions first. You may still wait one hour or more.
Norway	Maelstrom. If the wait times exceed 20 minutes, why bother? It’s an okay boat ride, but nothing spectacular. Certainly not worth ever using a Tier 1 FP+ on.
World Showcase Plaza	Duffy the Disney Bear	Arrive before 6:30 PM
Space Pavilion	Mission: Space. You should have little to no wait, but go ahead and reserve the FP+ anyway. Orange is the intense side and Green is the wimpy side.	Use FP+
Innoventions East	Sum of All Thrills. If this Kuka arm robotic ride is important to you, you should make sure to be in line by 7:00 PM. Lines are usually low in the late afternoon.	Innoventions closes 7:00 PM
Innoventions West	Epcot Character Spot Meet Mickey, Minnie and Goofy
Entrance Area	Spaceship Earth. Avoid the desire to ride this early. It will save you long waits at other attractions. There will be little or no wait later in the day.
	Illuminations. Great viewing locations include: World Showcase Plaza, Bridge between UK and France, Italy, Norway. Check the wind direction though. Rose and Crown and La Hacienda offer Table Service views.	Usually 9:00 PM, but varies by season.
	Optional: Captain EO Circle of Life Impressions de France Innoventions O’ Canada Reflections of China Tigger and Pooh.  If you really want to meet them, do so after meeting Duffy. These characters can be easily met at Animal Kingdom with little to no wait. They also meet in the Magic Kingdom.
