On day one I had no clue what the actual schedules were for the characters. They had changed drastically since 2012. I made my way around and around and around Hollywood Studios gathering data on appearance times for characters. I saw a very short line for Commander Cody and decided to drop in to meet him.
I attended Star Wars Weekends with my family back in 2009, before we were into extreme touring of the parks, but we were still quite effective in meeting characters and riding all the rides. We met most of the available characters that year except Kit Fisto, Jango Fett, Tusken Raiders, Zam Wessel & Luke Skywalker. Well, my kids wouldn’t pose with Aurra Sing because she was “freaky looking” and they weren’t into baddies. We even met the UP! Characters and Prince Caspian, rode every ride and saw every show.
I love the Star Wars movies, but I’m not a geek-fan. I can’t tell you what planet someone comes from or what type of blaster they hold. I did well knowing all the primary characters but I was lost with some of the lesser-knowns. I was constantly asking kids or those guys with the Star Wars shirts, pins or backpacks who we were in line to meet.
I thought I’d save you some pain and list the characters that appeared last year and plan to update with all the characters that appear beginning Friday with photos, schedules, new locations and estimated wait times.
Below are each of the pictures I’ve taken over the last couple of years. If you have photos of any SWW characters that I don’t have here and would like to share them (with credit), please email me: email@example.com
