Walt Disney World has never offered a Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party this early in the season. It seemed really premature to be offering everyone a “Happy Halloween” while we were pouring sweat all night long on Labor Day. I suppose the goal was to sell more… Continue reading KennythePirate’s Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party review from the first party #mnsshp
I was notified today that a really great character would be flying in to visit Epcot today. When I read the message it was 2:00pm and the friend informed me the character would only be there once more around 3:00pm. Initially I wondered if the report was accurate or someone was just discussing a recent Cast Member event that brought out some really rare Disney Afternoon characters. He assured me it was an Epcot Training Meet that would be occurring at the World Showplace.
It was Launchpad McQuack! After 10 years and 3 different Disney Parks, I finally had the opportunity to meet Launchpad!
When they threw the gates open Launchpad flung his arms open and no one near ran to greet him, so I accepted the man hug and told him how exciting it was to finally meet him. It was like 97 degrees, so I learned that Olaf isn’t the only one giving out warm hugs these days. Now I can just hope to meet Darkwing Duck one day!
KennythePirate’s Daily Adventure – Day 4: Patriotic Characters
My girls and I just wanted to head to Epcot in order to meet Chip n Dale in patriotic Revolutionary War costuming. They were meeting for July 4th only next to the American Adventure attraction. We arrived around 11:00am and stopped by an Epcot Character Training meet that included Tinker Bell, Aladdin, Minnie, Chip n Dale and Baloo with King Louie. We chose to meet with Tink, who had the longest line.
We made our way around to America expecting Chip n Dale to begin meeting at 11:30am. The meet and greet wasn’t published anywhere, so I was going by last year’s times. The characters finally arrived at Noon. The line for them was steady in the 30-45 minute range through the day.
From there we stepped over to enjoy the Voices of Liberty July 4 celebration, which was amazing. I’ll share some video clips on my Youtube channel later. I usually post little video clips on my Facebook page while I’m touring around too. There was a light rain, but we endured it. I thought we should take in the American Adventure show before leaving, but noticed a line off to the left and learned that Mickey, Goofy and Donald would be meeting there shortly. Of course, we joined the line!
We were asked to only take one photo per family, so I wasn’t able to take a photo of the characters by themselves like I often do 😦 They weren’t allowing autographs either to speed the line. That was no big deal to us.
After meeting these characters, it was time to take in the American Adventure before heading out of the park.
We enjoyed the afternoon at Typhoon Lagoon with friends, dinner at Shula Burger and viewed the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the Polynesian beach for a great celebration of our freedom!
A recent visit to Characer Palooza at Hollywood Studios
Character Palooza is an unpublished character meet and greet that takes place at Hollywood Studios. Here’s the article I wrote on Character Palooza a while back with more information.
We dropped in on Saturday afternoon and saw the Streets of America abuzz with meet and greet action. It’s funny how many people don’t know this exists and just stumble upon it. I’ve observed recently that the summer appearance can vary from 5:55pm to 6:10pm, so arrive a few minutes early!
Our goal Saturday was to ride Expedition Everest and Dinosaur and take part in the Dinoland Dance Party at Animal Kingdom, then hop over to Hollywood Studios to take in Character Palooza and the new Rock Your Summer Side Dance Party. We succeeded at everything except Dinosaur which went down while we were there.
We arrived at Character Palooza and Jordyn was hot and tired and was going to sit on the steps and wait on Debbie to meet some of her favorite characters…until she saw Max! In the same day Jordyn got to meet Mushu and Max for the first time, so she was pretty happy.

We ventured over to the Animal Kingdom’s Dinoland Dance-a-palooza dance party on Saturday afternoon. It was about 95 degrees, so everyone was pouring sweat with the 712% humidity that we experience here in tropical Florida.
I’ve previously documented a visit to the Dinoland Dance Party and I was able to dance with Gypsy Moth and Slim on that visit! You never know what characters will appear, but they tend to be the same for the Daily 3:30pm and 5:00pm shows. The characters are NOT available for regular meet and greets and do NOT sign autographs. They are there to dance and have fun.
Be sure to check www.characterlocator.com for updated times during your visit.
From my viewpoint I saw Brer Bear, Chip, Meeko and Rafiki initially. Jordyn was all excited and I was wondering why she was jumping up and down to see these characters that we’ve met about 6 billion times previously. I know Chip and Meeko are great fun, but why the excitement? Continue reading A visit to Dinoland Dance-a-palooza dance party including MUSHU
Rock Your Summer Side Dance Party
Update: It appears that this dance party will be merged into the Frozen Summer of Fun Live promotion and will begin at 5:30pm at the Sorcerer’s Hat.
Something that seemingly appeared out of nowhere is the new “Rock Your Summer Side” Disney character dance party. It was announced on Friday and began the same day.
According to the press release the dance party will be offered in front of the Sorcerer Hat at Hollywood Studios until August 22nd. The dance party runs from 6:00pm to 10:00pm daily.
The dance party features 30 minutes of live music by Mulch, Sweat and Shears followed by 30 minutes with a DJ and the Disney characters. The characters first appeared at 6:30pm to an otherwise empty dance party area. As soon as everyone saw the face below, the people in the area ran to meet the VIP characters.
Mickey appears in his cool looking blue jam shorts, white pineapple tshirt and blue Hawaiian shirt. I was told that he and a couple other characters appear in different costumes on different days.

Just moments ago Tinker Bell moved to Town Square Theater. She is currently only meeting by herself. Her fairy friends no longer meet in Walt Disney World! Just stay to your right as you enter the Magic Kingdom.
Town Square Theater is on your right.
Tinker Bell is located on the left side of the entrance and Mickey is on the right. Continue reading How to meet Tinker Bell in her new location at Magic Kingdom
