Meeting Hercules at Epcot’s Imagination Pavilion in Walt Disney World

We had the opportunity to meet the great Greek demi-god Hercules at Epcot’s Imagination Pavilion today.  He only appeared for one day only in preparation for an upcoming event.  Some were saying it’s a Cast Member event, while other hoped it would be for the upcoming Marathon.  I’m not positive, I just know you shouldn’t expect to find him at Epcot again any time soon.

It as funny hearing so many people going all silly when they met him, but Hercules handled it with a great deal of humility.  One young lady was all giddy and he said, “I’m just a guy like you.”  She said, “but you’re the son of Zeus.”  His retort was, “Oh there is that.”  He explained how he gave it all up so he could spend more time with Megara (whom I had the opportunity to meet a few months back).  I told him we met Meg a while back over near the United Kingdom and we were over in that area this morning, but had to run a marathon to get over to Imagination Pavilion to meet him.  He appeared twice at Imagination.  Some reported that he went over to the International Gateway later, but I didn’t head over there to confirm.

He was posing with the wall of the Imagination Pavilion at his back.  The Cast Member explained that it gave him the Greek God halo over his head.

Phil has the rest of the day pretty much booked”

He went from Zero to Hero in our autograph book.

While we won’t see him around Epcot, I have a sneaking suspicion that we may see him again in Walt Disney World in the not-to-distant future 😉

  1. Kenny, I know he made an appearance at the marathon, but my daughter has been dying to meet hercules for years; do you have any idea if or when he will be making another appearance?

  2. Okay, so I hope this doesn’t offend you in any way because it’s not meant to, but when I saw the first set of pics I thought, “Seriously? That’s the best Hercules they could find? He looks kinda lanky…”. Then I saw him next to you and I thought, “Oh my gosh, Hercules is huge!” lol!

  3. Oh how I hope the not so distant future includes the beginning of March! Hercules is one of my all time favorites! The Anna and Else changing schedule saga is doing a number on me so hopefully Hercules is there to make up for it! Also what is this character event rumor everyone keeps speaking of?

  4. I want Hercules! And Meg! Kenny, are the rumors about a 24-hour character event true? If you know anything about it, you probably can’t share, so how about this — I’m up in Gainesville, and my AP expires in April. I’m torn between the seasonal pass and the regular AP. I’m thinking seasonal since it’s so much cheaper and the summer is so darn hot anyway, but IF there was a character thing, I would definitely want to go (I didn’t attend the past 24-hour events) and would hate to miss it due to being blocked out. Can you say anything that might help me choose which pass would be useful? 🙂

  5. Wait I said I wanted to see Hercules and boom a couple days later there he is… Such power I have… Ha ha ha… So I want to meet Kuzco or actually Kronk… I want to meet Kronk… Sigh

  6. I got to meet Hercules twice in December 2002 at MGM when we were there. The second time we saw him he was with Megara. To this day that meet ranks in my top 5 character Meet and Greets.

I read a rumor on another site about a possible all night character event at the Magic Kingdom later this year. Any chance Hercules is training for this event?

NO. You can’t toy with my emotions like that Kenny. It’s so mean. Is there even a remote possibility he’ll be out around Spring Break?
