As I reported briefly on my Twitter feed, Hollywood Studios and Epcot will be the last Walt Disney World parks to eliminate Legacy or paper Fastpasses.
Hollywood Studios will move to Fastpass+ only on January 21, 2014 and Epcot will follow suit in becoming Fastpass+ only on January 24, 2014. My family and I have made a lot of great memories using the old system, including seeing my son grow to become our “Fastpass runner.” Today, we finished out a great day at Hollywood Studios with a bunch of Fastpasses. I’ll write about our fun experience later though.

I’ll be posting a full guide with touring strategies in the coming week. Don’t be intimidated by touring with Fastpass+. Only the Magic Kingdom provides any challenges!
Did they get rid of the electrical lights parade fast pass+? I was trying to book it but it doesn’t seem to still be an option.

So sorry but I’m still confused on this subject since I’m hearing different things. Are there no more FP kiosks at all for those who either purchase tickets day-of or are not staying at a resort? Is the only way to obtain a FP to book online in advance or will you still have the opportunity to arrive at the park and retrieve passes as you go?

The entire paper fp system is now gone. Day of visit guests now use the electronic kiosks for fp+ only. I’m working on those touring plans this week

Ok great. I nosed around your site some more after I asked and kind of put that together but those touring plans would be awesome! Can’t wait. Did they add the new kiosks to the maps?
LikeLike
No but I list the locations on the plans. They are pretty easy to find

Hi Kenny!! I´m traveling next week with my family and as I was chosing FP+, I decided to make some changes, but Disney´s page kept my pre-existing FP+ selections and my new ones, so for example in a day I have 6 FP+ chosen at different hours.
Here´s a copy and paste from the page:
FastPass+
Friday, January 31, 2014 – Magic Kingdom® Park
Update
Enchanted Tales with Belle12:05 – 1:05 pm
Pirates of the Caribbean®2:10 – 3:10 pm
Enchanted Tales with Belle3:40 – 4:40 pm
Pirates of the Caribbean®4:20 – 5:20 pm
Peter Pan’s Flight®4:55 – 5:55 pm
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin®7:25 – 8:25 pm
Do you think these will all be working? Wiil we be able to ride them all?
Thanks!!

No, only some will work. When you go back to the change page, you’ll see the real ones. That’s a major faux pas of their app

I never heard of child swap ? Am I swapping my kids for better behaved ones ? Lol

Ha ha. No one adult can wait with kids while the other rides. They give you a special pass that then allows the other person to skip the line after adult one returns

I just don’t get why someone would fast + a show like Disney jr or muppets? I mean they show at different times of the day u can usually get in no prob. Am I mid understanding something ? Lol. So I. An only pick 1 from tier 1 and. 2 from tier 2 at Hollywood ..so toy story for sure would be tier. 1 but what about tier 2? I have never waited long or any of those so what is ur suggestion? So we basically can’t ride toy story twice unless we wain in line the second Time? I’m thinking the lines are gonn eventually be shorter cuz everyone is going to use their fast pass plus there lol.

Those are just there in case everything runs out of fp+. I call it perceived value . Tower of Terror and Great Movie Ride or Star Tours in tier2. Park opening go straight to tsmm. Use fp+ for second ride. Fp+ makes stand by line longer

In ur opinion what would u fast pass + at Epcot with a 2 and 4 old ?

Are you not planning on experiencing test track, soarin and mission: space? You can child swap those with fp+

Where is the Wishes FP+ location and is this worth doing as one of your FP+ selections?

Rose Garden. Nice view, few People around. Only if you have an extra one to burn

Kenny, Your character locater has most of the princesses meeting all day in the hall, but My Experience has fast passes for 2 princesses i.e. “Aurora and a friend”. Are there separate lines for different princesses? I’ve met them several different ways in the past, just not sure how to organize this one……

Cinder is with aurora. Rapunzel with snow

Great info Kenny! I’ve heard that it’s possible to get a second FP+ for a ride after you’ve used your first one for it. Any idea if this is actually the case, and what effect the tiers might have on this (e.g. would it work on TSMM)?

No, it won’t allow you to use fp+ for the same ride twice in same day

Kenny, will the kiosks at AK and Hollywood be right at each attraction or only a couple around the park for check in? Also, do you only have to visit a kiosk once in a day if you have your selections done prior on your My Experience plan/bracelet. I’ve got everything scheduled and reserved, just not sure what to do when we get to each park. I did see your post of kiosks in MK…..where in AK and HOllywood? Thanks Kenny. Like always, great job!!

I wrote a post that included those kiosk locations, but I’ll be doing that again this week to make it easier to find the info. If you pre-booked your fp+ with app or web interface you don’t need to visit a kiosk, just use the fp+ that you reserved. You can even change times with their app

Really? Because Epcot is the one I’m worried about. Only 1 FP+ for all the good stuff! Maybe we’ll become “two-days-at-Epcot” people.

Rope drop Test Track and fp+ the others, really easy

So can people staying offsite still get fastpasses?

I am wondering the same thing, we have only been there twice but we stay offsite to save money…..we already can’t take advantage of the Disney dining!
LikeLike
Honestly, Disney dining is easier, but you only come out ahead eating a bunch of pre-packaged desserts that you may not order otherwise

I’m excited to be able to pre book rides rather than run around with 2 under 8’s. However for MK I have no idea what rides to pick for late May. Will your guide make suggestions on what to choose? Also is it likely any other characters will get fp+? MMy two want to meet Tink, Merida and Anna/Elsa.

I’ll have that up this week for you

Thank you because here in the UK we keep hearing various reports such as if you’re staying off site you can still use our plastic pre-bought park tickets (with the My Experience logo on them) 60 days in advance to pre-book fast passes from March 2014 however Disney completely deny this!

You’ll get to use mde eventually, but they are still working out the details for offsite guests
