After posting the overview of exact meet times for Character Palooza yesterday, I had a ton of people asking where the characters appear from and where they actually meet. I’m providing three videos and a bunch of photos to demonstrate where all this takes place. Here’s the Streets of America right before Character Palooza began on July 24th at 6:00 PM.
In this first 2 1/2 minute video you can see that the characters appear from Lights, Motors, Action. In my case they arrived at exactly 6:01 PM and only appeared for ONE set. The characters divided. One set of characters turned to go toward San Francisco Street and the other group went down New York Street. About 2:00 into the video you’ll learn that Stitch is actually a pretty talented Mailbox drummer! I followed Pinocchio, Gepetto, Stitch, Capt Hook and the Green Army Men.
Stitch, Captain Hook, Pinocchio with Gepetto and the Green Army Men were roamers. This meant that they didn’t allow any dedicated lines to form. They would meet a guest and intentionally turn to someone else to meet them. This is the Old School way that many Disneyphiles long for. I personally hate it because you have to push your way to the front to get their attention and you don’t know if you’ll get to meet them. You’ll notice that in the next video.
Pocahontas met with Meeko. Chip met separately from Dale, which is unusual in Walt Disney World. Minnie was by herself. Aladdin was with Jasmine and Genie. All these characters ended up with dedicated lines that were actually much longer than I expected them to be.
When I noticed the characters beginning to leave around 6:20, I headed over to Herbie’s Drive-in in front of Lights, Motors, Action to see if I could get any good photos or video and captured a great moment of Aladdin on video and Pocahontas in a photo.
