New 2014 Map coming soon!
NOTE: Look for Mary Poppins, Bert and Penguin for 2013 near the Prince Charming Carousel! Wendell and Shaker will join Big Al and Liverlips. Daisy and Donald will join Scrooge in Storybook Circus. Minnie will move to Fantasyland Castle Wall.
It’s important that your family makes a plan of the things they wish to experience during the party so they don’t spend their time wandering around the park. When it comes to characters you should pick the ones you find have the greatest importance. To some people, meeting with the 7 Dwarves will rank high, while others may wish to see Captain Jack Sparrow and another family may want to visit with every Prince at the party. Know who you want to see and set a reasonable goal. It’s not impossible to meet every character, but you won’t have time for any other element of the party to attempt this.
HIGHEST PRIORITY CHARACTERS:
These characters may have lines of one hour or more or take multiple meets to see them all
Dwarfs:
If you wish to meet the 7 Dwarves, (Snow White doesn’t meet with them, she meets with her Prince in Town Square Theater) you’ll want to line up no later than 6:15 pm. The line for the Dwarves actually begins to form at 5:30-6:00 pm. Why would I recommend spending all that time in line? Well, if you don’t line up early, you’ll still be in that line later and you’ll miss precious party time. By lining up early, you’ll have the full 5 hours to do the other things you wish during the actual party.
Santa Claus

Santa meets next to City Hall and creates very long lines. However, you can meet him during the day in the same location or in Epcot with Mrs. Claus and save yourself a lot of waiting at the party.
Captain Jack Sparrow:

Captain Jack is very popular, but he also tend to be fashionably late. I stood in line one night hoping he’d arrive at 7:00 pm sharp only to find out later that he wouldn’t arrive until after 8:00 pm. I recommend going to see him immediately after the SECOND Once Upon a Christmastime Parade. They disband his line for parades, so many people don’t want to wait twice.
Princesses with their Princes:

If the Dwarfs aren’t your highest priority, you may wish to line up for these Lords and Ladies early. You’ll find Aurora with Prince Phillip, Snow White and her Prince and Rapunzel with Flynn Rider. I’ve found the line typically begins to form around 6:30 and begins right at 7:00. Flynn Rider is VERY popular and VERY chatty, so even with all the Disney Magic, he still builds a long line. If you don’t wish to arrive early, come back around 11:00pm or right after the second parade for the shortest waits.
MODERATE PRIORITY CHARACTERS
Aladdin & Abu, Jasmine & Genie

Aladdin was typically meeting with Abu and Jasmine with Genie. There were one or two sets around parade times some nights where Abu and Genie met together. The lines for these characters were typically about 20-30 minutes. You may line up for one set and actually meet the other set.
Minnie Mouse

Minnie has moved to the Fantasyland Wall. Minnie has moved out of the Town Square Theater and will now meet by the Fantasyland Castle Wall for 2013.
Winnie the Pooh, Eeyore, Tigger and Piglet
This picture is from Animal Kingdom, but the party has all four of the Pooh characters together in one meet. Each are wearing a festive scarf like the one above. They typically have a 30 minute wait and often see their line cut before they even arrive for the next set. Be sure to ask the Cast Member about the schedule.
Donald, Daisy & Scrooge McDuck

Scrooge McDuck met in Fantasyland next to Storybook Treats last year, but he will move to Storybook Circus and be joined with Daisy and Donald who met inside Pete’s Silly Sideshow last year.
LOWEST PRIORITY CHARACTERS
Dance Parties

There’s really no reason to arrive early for either Dance Party. Just walk right in, dance until you’re tired and take some photos. You can ask a Cast Member what time a certain character will appear. We often end the night at one of the dance parties.
Country Bears

Big Al and Liverlips will again be joined by Wendell and Shaker for 2013 parties. They appeared randomly in Frontierland. I never saw a long line to meet these characters.
VISIT DURING THE DAY CHARACTERS
It’s my opinion that I don’t waste my precious and expensive party time visiting characters that I could easily see during the day in the same costuming. Perhaps you only have one day at Walt Disney World or you aren’t planning to be in the Magic Kingdom any mornings, in those cases it would make sense to visit these characters if they are important to you. Those who meet in the exact same costume during the day include:
- Ariel
- Merida
- Mickey Mouse – “Talking”
- Peter Pan & Wendy
- Phineas and Ferb – meet them in Hollywood Studios.
- Tiana & Naveen
- Tinker Bell

There are no character meet and greets for CInderella & Prince Charming during MVMCP?

Last year they were with the Tremaine Family, but we don’t know the 2014 lineup yet.

Mickey does not wear a special outfit for the party, is that right?

nevermind, I saw your answer from earlier but I do have another question. Snow White is NOT with the dwarfs, is that correct?

and another question. I know it is typically cinderella and repunzel and then elsa and anna. For the party will elsa and anna be meeting with their fellas or will their meet and greet be the same as during the day.

😦 too bad! Didn’t have enough time last year for my daughter to see her – I think it would be such a nice Christmas treat for the fairy meet and greets–I really can not understand why they took all the other fairies away – I always thought it was a wonderful experience !

Hello Kenny, I was wondering if Flynn Rider meets with Rapunzel during Christmas week, when MVMCP is no longer taking place.

No, only for parties

Hello! When will we know which characters will be at this years MVMCP? Hoping for Anna and Elsa, maybe with Kristoff? We are going to the Nov 7th party, what should we expect for crowds?
Thanks!

Maybe a week or two before.

Hi!
All this fairy movement is coming up. Do you think Periwinkle will still come out at the MVMCP this year? Missed her this past December because of wait times and opted for Ariel and rides. Thanks!

Not sure, it’s too far away to know

I downloaded the app but there are no times listed for Rapunzel and Flynn under the Christmas Party. Has anyone confirmed that he is definitely there with her?

Nope, Beast never meets with her at this time. He is only available with Be Our Guest DINNER reservation.

Ok, thanks. We already have a FP+ there for another day, so we’ll use that. I just wanted to make sure that Belle wasn’t with her or something during the party. What about Santa? Thanks for the quick response!

Santa doesn’t begin appearing at the Magic Kingdom during the day until after Thanksgiving.

Hi, thanks so much for this info. I have two questions: What will the Belle M&G @ EtwB be like during the MVMCP? Is it worth visiting if we’ll be doing regular ETwB on another day? Or, is there something different/special about the M&G during MVMCP?
Also, you mention that Santa can be visited other times. Does that mean he’s at the park from open to close or are there only certain times to see him? I am trying to figure out whether we should use party time to see him or not.
Thanks!

I would go there during the day, as the experience doesn’t change. It’s not a typical meet either. It’s a show with a photo op at the end.

Kenny, would it be an ok idea to see Rapunzel during the first parade? Crowds would be slightly low for her during that time?
I want to see the castle lit at 6:15 or I’d get in line then for her.

During parade might be good, but early and late are recommended

When would you recommend meeting Mary Poppins, Bert and crew?

I would be guessing until after tonight’s party, but after a parade might be a good time.

What will Mary Poppins be wearing at the Christmas Party? And is she daily in the magic kingdom in her white dress with red bows?

Temperature usually determines costume. If it’s cool out, she will be in nanny outfit.

When is the best time to visit so that you can take advantage of the Christmas decorations/festivities, but not be there at peak crowd time? Some other research I’ve done points to second week of Dec. and I plan to check your app for wait times etc. during the time frame, but wanted to see what your opinion was.
LikeLike
First week of dec or the two weeks before Thanksgiving. Second week of dec gets much busier toward end of that week.

2013 schedules won’t be available until later, but the ones I’ve listed should be pretty accurate.

No FP for any attraction during party

We are going to MNSSHP and MVMCP on the same trip- and have not been to either before. If we meet the Dwarves and the Princes and Princesses at MNSSHP is it really worth taking the time to line up again at MVMCP?

I would visit them for the Christmas Party and use the Halloween Party for the others that only appear then.

Would you be able to make a printable Character Checklist and post it? I am trying to find one for my niece to use when we go to Disney World. This could be a great addition to your website to have everyday checklist as well as lists for the specialty times. Thanks.
