(WDW hasn’t announced and probably won’t announce what characters will actually appear in Canada)

GUESS:  Donald in his tree cutter outfit just appeared at today’s 5k, what’s the chances that he shows up this week???

Walt Disney World has just announced its second Limited Time Magic event.  The event is called Winter Wonderland and will take place in the Canada pavilion at Epcot from January 14-20.  It is said to offer “snow” and special meet and greets with characters.  I would guess that it would be the same snow you would find on Main Street or Osborne Lights.

Set times are 10:30 a.m. – 2:10 p.m. and 3:05 p.m. – 5:45 p.m.

At Disneyland, the Bayou Bash is returning featuring Princess Tiana and Louis the Alligator from “The Princess and the Frog” for four weekends: January 18-21, January 25-27, February 1-3 and February 8-12, 2013.

  1. I figured as much. And it’s not like the line looked to be crazy long or anything (i.e., it’s not like it stretched to the Millennium Village or anything). The wait was just a direct result of a very personalized and highly interactive experience with 4 characters at once, which seems to be pretty rare these days.

  2. Long time follower, 1st time poster here. First off, thanks Kenny for all that you do. As a new character hunter, your blog has been a major help. Hopefully I’ll be able to be of some use, as a local passholder who makes pretty frequent trips, going forward.

After not finding Bling in the New Year worthy of a trip, I decided to check out Winter Wonderland today, plus a quick side trip to the Studios made possible by this blog (but my opinion of that will be with that post instead of this one)!

The Good: Donald, Daisy, Chip and Dale all meet together, so you don’t have to wait in the line multiple times. Also, there is very strong interaction between the 4 characters and the Guests.

The Bad: Because of this strong interaction, the line moved at a snail’s pace while I was there. The characters meet right on the main path, by the water, in Canada, so they draw a decent line – and that decent line took about 40 minutes.

Also, the entire meet felt a bit thrown together and chaotic. Can’t exactly put my finger on it, but I just hope that Lost Friends Week is a bit better executed.

Hope someone finds this useful, and that others get to enjoy this “limited” experience.

  3. I was hoping that since the marathon was this weekend they might bring out some rare characters for this LTM meet and greet. Do you think there’s any chance?!?
